- The best way to learn poker is to study from the best. I am a 10+ year poker pro and one of the winningest poker players in online poker history at the lower stakes (BlackRain79). I run a free poker blog and poker YouTube channel teaching people how to learn to play poker. I have also written 3 best selling books on the game.
- Some poker dealers love to spout off patter as they deal, and they have nicknames for all the face-up cards. Other dealers just blandly announce the cards as they’re dealt – ace of spades, queen of hearts, etc. Still, other dealers just keep their mouths shut. It’s also customary to announce possible hands when you see face-up cards.
Poker dealers generally earn an average of around $30 to $40 per hour, but it could be as much as $50 an hour in a busy poker room. Dealers may also have to work their way up from smaller casinos to reach those higher-paying jobs. Potential dealers must also realise that much of their salary will come from tips.

INTRODUCTION TO DEALER’S CHOICE POKER
Dealer’s Choice Poker is a popular 5 to 7 player home poker game. This game is played for entertainment and not payout. Each deal is a different poker game the dealer chooses. Due to the dynamic nature of the game, it is exciting to play and often introduces players to new poker games. Dealer’s Choice Poker is not ideal for a casino game, as opposed to H.O.R.S.E Poker, which also uses a different game each hand, because the dealer may choose some obscure form of poker with house rules. Therefore, it is particularly ideal for playing poker games in the home, where players feel comfortable taking time to explain the variations and game specific rules.
THE DEAL
The initial dealer can be chosen with any random process. After the first dealer, the deal passes to the left or clockwise. Prior to the deal, the dealer declares which variant of poker they wish to play. The dealer must be able to explain the game with clarity to all players if they do not know how to play. They must also explain special or house rules. Players should try to pick in advance what variant they are going to play when it is their turn to deal.
THE GAMES
There are numerous variations of poker to be played. Below are links to some fun poker games that could be played during Dealer’s Choice Poker:
