To date, Gateway and its 18 locations in British Columbia and Alberta has collectively donated almost 1,200lbs of food, 34 pairs of pajamas, over 150 winter clothing items, 100 toys, and over $20,000 in cash to various Food Banks, Christmas Bureaus, and non-profit organizations throughout its communities. In addition, Gateway employees have volunteered time to cook and deliver meals, hand out toys, jingle bells for the Salvation Army kettles and take pledges at the CKNW Orphans’ Fund telethon.

“Spending time at the telethon, collecting donations, was the very least I could do to help the children and this great cause”, said CKNW Orphans’ Fund telethon volunteer and Gateway Executive Assistant, Christina Kennedy.

Gateway prides itself on being a good corporate neighbour by supporting important community and charitable initiatives and by working closely with community leaders to ensure they are taking an active role, in supporting economic development in local communities in which they operate.

Please Gamble Responsibly

Do you believe that you, or someone close to you, might have a gambling problem? If so, help is available! Please click the following link to the California Office of Problem Gambling or call 1-800-GAMBLER. Most people who gamble do so socially and for fun and usually don’t risk more than they can afford. These gamblers may “chase” their losses to get even, but not for long. Normal gamblers do not get obsessed about gambling. Medical professionals refer to problem gamblers as “pathological” gamblers, while Gamblers Anonymous calls them “compulsive” gamblers. These gamblers may start out having fun but then they begin to lose control of their urge to gamble, and gambling begins to damage their lives. A compulsive gambler may be consumed for a short or for a long time with gambling, finding money to gamble with, irrational thinking, and continuing the gambling behavior in spite of negative consequences.
